En un momento en que los virus parecen desconocidos y aterradores, encontrar la belleza en sus estructuras, incluyendo los virus no patógenos, es un recordatorio de que los virus son parte del mundo natural.
He llegado a apreciar la belleza de la estructura del virus COVID y a respetar su letalidad, lo que me obligó a vivir una vida en casa más restringida en estos últimos años.
La dualidad es fundamental para nuestra existencia ... para sentir las alturas más altas debemos soportar las bajas más bajas. La oscuridad existe solo porque hay luz. Sin lo negativo, es posible que no disfrute de lo positivo. La belleza se reconoce solo porque hay fealdad.
Durante esta pandemia, he encontrado placer en pasatiempos femeninos no tecnológicos anteriores como el bordado, un arte que se remonta al 300.000 a. C., la era de Cro-Magnon. También trabajé con la tecnología de mi tiempo imprimiendo digitalmente fotos médicas del virus en lino y embellecí su belleza con hilo y productos de limpieza desenredados, que se han convertido en una gran parte de mi esfuerzo por evitar la letalidad del virus. Volver a lo básico me ha hecho realmente valorar las contradicciones de la naturaleza de mi vida aquí en la tierra.

THE BEAUTY OF MY ENEMY
At a time when viruses seem unknowable and scary, finding the beauty in their structures, including non-pathogenic viruses, is a reminder that viruses are part of the natural world.
I have come to appreciate the beauty of the COVID virus structure and to respect its deadliness which forced me to live a more constrained, domestic life in these past few years.
Duality is fundamental to our existence…to feel the highest highs we must endure the lowest lows. Darkness exists only because there is light. Without the negative you might not enjoy the positive. Beauty is recognized only because there is ugliness.
I have found pleasure during this pandemic in earlier non-technological feminine pastimes like embroidery, an art that dates back to 300,000 BC, the Cro-Magnon era. I also worked with the technology of my time by digitally printing medical photos of the virus on linen and embellished their beauty with thread and unraveled cleaning supplies, which have become so much a part of my effort to stave off the deadliness of the virus. Reverting back to basics has made me really value the contradictions of the nature of my life here on earth.
